Terrence L. Cripps passed away peacefully on January 17th, with his family holding his hands. At 85, he left a long legacy of hard work, creative problem-solving skills and was always willing to help a friend in need.
The son of Leslie and Helen (Boyle) Cripps, Terry was born on December 15, 1939, in Springfield, MA, and raised in Enfield, CT. He later moved to Agawam to raise a family. He served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4 E4 T), was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, and was recognized as a Marksman with the M-14 rifle.
Terry married his wife, Sandy in 1961, creating countless memories, including riding motorcycles, hiking with the Pioneer Valley Hiking Club and camping at Peppermint Park in Plainfield, MA. Terry loved campfires, was an avid reader, and a 44-year friend of Bill W. He took great pride in his work as a carpenter, owning his business The Work Shop for many years. While employed at Development Associates as a Project Supervisor for over 35 years, his work ethic was evident in all he did.
Terry is survived by his daughters, Wendy McAnanama and her husband Steve of Agawam and Candra Cripps of Springfield, as well as his grandchildren, Connor and Brenna, of whom he was very proud. Terry was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Helen Cripps, and siblings, Douglas, Cahill, and Gwendolyn. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives he touched. A man of integrity and strength, Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Huntington's Disease Society of America or Shriner's Hospital for Children .

Funeral services will be held at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Calling hours will be held on January 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral home service will begin at 1:00 PM followed by a committal service with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
