Obituary

With great love and deep sadness, the family of Solange Boivin Gaudreault announces her passing surrounded by her dear family at her long-time residence in Feeding Hills on July 3,2026. Born on June 21,1931 in Canada to the late Rene and Marieanna (Thibodeau) Boivin, she spent her youth and was educated there. Solange wed the love of her life, Gaston Gaudreault in 1954 and they spent sixty-eight years together until his passing in 2022. She and Gaston welcomed their three children and created a loving environment for the family. Solange was a dedicated wife and mother supporting her husband in his construction business while instilling in her children the important values in life. She was a strong woman with great determination and sought to encourage and advocate for her loved ones. Solange took immense pride in her home where her door was always open, and her exceptional homemade cakes were plentiful as she was an avid baker. She enjoyed decorating her home to welcome each season. She loved to dance and found ceramics to be a fun craft. Solange was a giving person who volunteered at her church the former St Thomas Aquinas in Springfield, and she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She was generous with her time and talents, especially to help those less fortunate. Solange loved her family and her friends immensely and looked forward to every opportunity to spend time with them. Her legacy of generosity and true love will live on.

Surviving Solange are her beloved children, Stephen, Eric and his wife Doris and Linda Menard. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Christina, Jazmayn, Marc and great grandchildren, Nicholas, Gabrielle, Silas, Lila, and Zane. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Pauline and Ghislain. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Gaston, her granddaughter Shannon, and her brother Raymond Boivin.

Private services for her family will be held on Friday July 10,2026 at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street. All are invited to attend her committal services at approximately noon at St. Rose de lima Cemetery Olsen Street in Chicopee.
