Sandra A. Boyer

October 23, 1947 – November 18, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra A. Boyer on November 18, 2024. Born to Ronald and Muriel Atwater on October 23, 1947, in Springfield, MA, Sandra was a lifelong resident of Agawam, Massachusetts. A cherished mother, sister, and grandmother, Sandra was known for her passionate spirit and unwavering love for her family.

Sandra spent her professional life in the service of others, molding young minds as a devoted teacher. A proud graduate of Westfield State University, she earned her master's degree and used her skills and knowledge to positively impact the lives of countless students throughout her career. She taught for Agawam Public Schools for 42 years. Outside of her work, Sandra found immense joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, and she loved spending quiet moments watching birds, especially cardinals, from her window. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Sandra is survived by her loving children, Brian (Amy) Boyer; and Nicole (Marc) Turgeon her cherished grandchildren, Kylie, Breeana, Caden, and Olivia; her dear siblings, Donna (Joseph) O'Rourke, Patricia Atwater, Marcia (Scott) Barker, and Bruce (Lindsay) Atwater. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Boyer, and her parents, Ronald and Muriel Atwater.

In honor of Sandra a scholarship fund is being established and will be awarded to a deserving student pursuing a degree in education. Donations for the scholarship can be sent to Nicole Turgeon at 35 Spearfarm Road, Feeding Hills, MA 01030. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street, Agawam, Massachusetts. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th, 2024, at 11:00am at Saint David's 699 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030, followed by a committal service at the Agawam Center Cemetery, 820 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.  View obituary at www.agawamfh.com
