Rose M
Brouwer
March 27, 1932 – July 7, 2025
The loving family of Rose M. Brouwer is deeply saddened to announce her passing on July 7, 2025. Born on March 27,1932 in St. Johnsbury Vermont to the late Truman and Madine (Rodgers) LeBarron she was raised and educated in Barre Vermont. Rose relocated to the area in the early 60's making Agawam her permanent home in 1969. She was a doting mother who created a loving nurturing environment raising her children, instilling the values that would enrich their lives. Rose had a big heart and made everyone in her life feel loved and respected. Her warm personality brought her much success for many years as a "lunch lady" at the Agawam High School. She greeted each student as if they were family, always making sure they were well fed. In her leisure Rose enjoyed bowling, bingo, sailing and she especially loved her trips to California. Her bowling skills were certainly hereditary as she and Jan won a mother-daughter bowling competition. Rose was a dedicated supporter of Jan throughout her softball career not only attending every game but also every practice as well. She was an avid dog lover and loved music with Tom Jones, the Irish Tenors, and Celtic Thunder at the top of her favorites list. She was a huge NY sports fan, enjoyed watching golf tournaments and simply loved Italian food. Rose lived a life rich with blessings and loved those in her life with no bounds.
Surviving Rose are her two devoted daughters Joy and her husband David Brown of Jupiter Florida and Jan Brouwer and her boyfriend Scott Stracener of Agawam. She will be greatly missed by her small extended family and cherished friends.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1-3 P.M. on Friday July 25,2024 at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street. A funeral home service will conclude the calling hours at 3 P.M. For those wishing to remember Rose in a special way the family suggests donations be made to Dakin Humane Society 171 Union Street Springfield MA 01105
