Obituary

Richard Auburn Gross,96, entered eternal rest peacefully at his home in Agawam on November 4,2025. Born in Berkshire Vermont on February 24,1929 to the late Vaughn and Effie (Clark) Gross, he relocated to the Springfield area and settled in Agawam. Richard chose to honorably serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean war. He wed his beloved wife, Alice J. Belisle, in 1956 and they enjoyed forty years together until her passing in 1995. Richard had a successful career in the automotive industry and retired from Jerry Rome Nissan as manager of the parts department. He remained very active after retirement spending time tending to his gardens and creating his masterpieces in woodworking. He was a model airplane buff having the patience and attention to detail required by this hobby. He had a keen interest in astronomy, always in amazement of the heavens and beyond. And when it came time to relax Richard could be found watching NASCAR, Indy car, or one of his favorite New England sports teams. Richard lived life to the fullest on his terms greeting each day with an open heart and vibrant energy.

Surviving Richard is his devoted son Michael and his partner Tina Garde and his loving sisters Elizabeth Thurston and Patricia DuPloy. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Alice and his siblings Vaughn Jr, Walter, Arlene Marasco and Oleta Gloor.
