April 6, 2026
Richard (Dick) Pisano Sr.
1936 - 2026
Westfield
Richard E. Pisano Sr. ("Dick"), age 89, passed away on April 6, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Letizia Pisano. Raised in Agawam, he later moved to Westfield, where he made his home for forty-seven years. Dick lived a long and meaningful life centered on family, loyalty, and enduring friendships. He served honorably in the United States Army as a Military Policeman stationed in Korea. Upon returning home, he joined the Agawam Police Department. He later transitioned into the banking industry, beginning at Springfield Five Cents Savings Bank, continuing at Community Savings Bank, and concluding with more than twenty years of dedicated service as Executive Director of the Agawam Federal Credit Union. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Virginia (Vogt) Pisano. He was a devoted father to Richard Pisano Jr. of Chicopee, Massachusetts, and Alyssa Preston Regul (Christian) of Los Angeles, California. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas Pisano (Marlee), Andrew Pisano, Courtney Pisano Conway, and Grace Pisano (Donovan), and a cherished great-grandfather to Jenna Conway, Ryan Conway, Travis Pisano, Max Pisano, Ben Pisano, Cody Pisano, and Clover Pisano. He is also survived by his brothers, David Pisano (Donna) and Donald Pisano (Jill), along with many nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. He is further survived by his former daughters-in-law, Ann Burke and Gina Curtis, and his dear friend, John Brunato. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Letizia Pisano; his brother, Lawrence Pisano Jr.; his sons, Michael Pisano and Louis Pisano; and his childhood friend, Carlo Imelio. Dick's life was centered around his family. For many years, celebrations filled their home, warmly welcoming extended family and friends for holidays and birthdays. When health allowed, he enjoyed traveling to visit relatives, but some of the family's most treasured memories were made in Wellfleet, where Dick and Virginia spent forty-five years vacationing together. In retirement, Dick enjoyed time on the golf course and cherished time with his brothers, whether at the family lot in Otis or during their Saturday morning coffee gatherings-where, over coffee and a Mrs. Murphy's donut, all the world's problems were solved. He also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino with family and friends, where the true reward was time spent together. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Andrew Wetstone for over three decades of exceptional care and compassion, as well as to Baystate Health Hospice for the care provided during Dick's final days.
