Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond T. Desrosiers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left this world peacefully on March 3, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 7, 1936, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Raymond lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Raymond is survived by his devoted wife of over 65 years, Patricia (Knowlton) Desrosiers. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories, raising three children who carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. He leaves behind his son Wayne Desrosiers of West Springfield; his son John Desrosiers and wife Carol of Easthampton; and his daughter Debby Desrosiers of Indian Orchard. Raymond was a proud grandfather to Christine, Aimee, Matthew, and Jeffrey, and a loving great-grandfather to Connor, Dylan, Riley, Zoey, Adelaide, and Isabelle.

He was the son of the late Raymond R. Desrosiers and Mae E. (Booth) Desrosiers, and is remembered fondly by his cousins Kathy, Denise, John, and Jimmy, who shared many joyful moments with him throughout the years.

Raymond's passion for hockey was unmatched; he played the sport he adored well into his late 70s, showcasing his unwavering spirit and enthusiasm for life. His professional journey spanned over four decades in the railroad industry, where he dedicated himself to his work, retiring as a Crew Dispatcher for Conrail in 1998.

Raymond was a family man at heart, finding joy in every gathering, every shared meal, and every story told. He had a special love for the dogs and ponies, and his love for animals was evident in the gentle way he cared for them. He cherished his friendships deeply, including those with John "Mo" and Jeanine Moriarty, Jo-Ann and John Meunier, Joan George, and the entire Knowlton Family, all of whom enriched his life with their companionship.

In honor of Raymond's life and legacy, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Dakin Humane Society, two causes that reflect his compassionate spirit.
