Paul Joseph
Fiorentino
September 14, 1952 – August 2, 2024
Paul Fiorentino, 71 of Westfield MA, beloved husband and soulmate of Deb (Bono) Fiorentino passed away on August 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with radiation fibrosis. He was surrounded by the love of his family.
At no time did Paul ever lose faith in God as he courageously fought this curse. He was a selfless man, always giving his time to friends and family.
Born in Springfield, MA on September 14, 1952, he was the son of Christine (Misisco) Fiorentino Polumbo and James L. Fiorentino. He was the step-son of Angelo A. Polumbo. Paul was predeceased by his parents, his step-father, and his step-brother Angelo J. Polumbo.
Paul was a graduate of Cathedral High School. He furthered his education at Westfield State College. After leaving Westfield State, Paul moved to California. While in California, he worked with Cesar Chavez's United Farm Workers.
Upon returning to Massachusetts, Paul was a driver for Federal Express for 15 years. After leaving Federal Express, Paul worked for the United States Post Office. He retired from the USPS in 2014.
Paul loved being outdoors whenever he could. He enjoyed travel, working in his yard, walking, and playing softball. Paul was a devoted Yankee baseball fan. He was a NAUI and PADI certified scuba diver. He enjoyed many trips to the Caribbean islands where he dove the many coral reefs and participated in wreck dives.
Paul had many friends. Together, they enjoyed many trips to Yankee stadium. He was a member of the Tuesday lunch group at Crazy Jakes in Wilbraham; where he was the "birthday wizard." In addition, he was an avid reader and loved going to the library.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his brother Mark Fiorentino (Rebecca) of Florida, Peter (Joyce) Fiorentino of Westfield, and his sister-in-law Phyllis Polumbo of Florida as well as many family members he truly loved.
Please do not think Paul is in a better place; because a better place for Paul to be is to be alive and healthy, with the friends and family who loved him deeply.
"Non ti dimentichermo perche fosti il migliore di noi, perche c'insegnasti ad essere buoni e coraggiosi."
