Surrounded by the love and comfort of her loving family, Patsy J. Strom "Grammie" peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday February 23, 2026. Born to the late Homer and Bertie (Childress) Orrick in Dallas Texas on January 19,1938, Patsy spent her youth in Texas before relocating to California where she attended local schools. She was a very warm, gentle, woman whose nature was to show compassion and empathy to those in need. Patsy had a strong maternal instinct, raising her nine children and creating a nurturing environment where she showered them with her love and instilled the values she believed in. Patsy worked in the healthcare field as a CNA for a number of years.. In her leisure Patsy enjoyed listening to country music and dancing. She also liked watching Hallmark movies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Patsy was always "nice" but also had a spunky spirit that would chime in where necessary. She was a very loving Grandmother to all her grandchildren; each one held a special place in her heart. Patsy believed in loyalty, hard work and showing up for her people. She set an example of resilience, initiative, and steadfast devotion to family.

Surviving Patsy are her devoted children, Donna Shaver, Janell Beck, Georgie Miller, Michelle Craig, Ralph Strom Jr., Nolonda Strom and Kurtis Andrews-Knight. To carry on her legacy, she leaves her loving 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren as well as a large extended family and many friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by her two children, Linda Meyrick and Michael Strom.

Visitation with Patsy's family will be held on Thursday March 5,2026 from 1 until 3 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street. A funeral home service will be held at 3 P.M. Burial will be held privately.
