Obituary

On Thanksgiving Day, November 27,2025 Michael G. Goodrow was called to eternity after a brief illness. Michael peacefully entered that special room in heaven that God had prepared for him. He was the son of the late Homer "Al" Goodrow and Carmella (Scannapieco) Goodrow.  Surviving Michael are his sisters; Rita Goodrow and her husband Jim and Marilyn Matheson and brother Thomas Goodrow ands his wife Lynn. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, close cousins as well as extended family and countless friends that will mis him deeply.

He was raised on Winthrop Street in the city's (Springfield) South End and was known to all by his moniker "Goodie". His unique style of living life was all on his own. He could always be counted on for sage counsel and interesting perspectives on life and things in general. With an enthusiastic Christian faith coupled with his in-depth knowledge of the scriptures, he was a calming force in a turbulent world.

Michael was and will always be one of God's greatest blessings for his family and all the people he touched in his seventy-five years of life. He may have left us in this world, but he will always be with us in our hearts and minds.

Family and friends will gather at Sacred Heart Church 395 Chestnut Street in Springfield on Saturday December 6,2025 for a Liturgy of Christian Burial beginning at 9 A.M. Committal rites will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery 1601 State Street in Springfield. Memorial donations in Michael's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
