Obituary

With great love and profound sadness, the family of Mary Ellen Langevin announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her devoted family on Wednesday August 20,2025. Born in Galway Ireland on October 1,1934 to the late Patrick and Mary (Conneely) O'Malley, she spent her youth and was educated in her homeland before moving to the United States at the age of seventeen. Mary Ellen began her career as a wife and mother at the age of nineteen. She welcomed her five children, focusing on creating a nurturing environment where she could instill her life's values in each child, always encouraging them to be true to themselves and each other. Her home was her castle and not only was it meticulously kept she also loved to garden and tend to her beautiful flowers keeping her grounds well maintained. Her family, especially her grandchildren, was always the center of her life and showering them with her loyalty and love was her priority. In her leisure she enjoyed knitting, leaving many beautiful creations for her children to cherish. Shopping was a special treat for Mary Ellen, she had a great appreciation for clothes, always elegantly dressed. She was a woman of great faith and a communicant of Holy Name Church in Springfield. Mary Ellen's life was a mosaic of resilience, love, and laughter. She will be dearly missed, and the impact of her life will continue to be felt through memories shared by those who loved and had the honor of knowing her.

Surviving Mary Ellen is her beloved husband Daniel, and her loving children; Thomas and his wife Marie Langevin, Nancy and Roy McGuill, Eileen and Robert Kolisko, Michael and Carol Langevin and Raymond and Ana Langevin. To cherish her memory, she leaves her adored grandchildren Raymond, Christina, Sharon Ann and her husband Robert, Jennifer and her husband Kevin, Robert, Patrick, Nicole, Kristen, Shanna, Skylar, Cameron and great grandchildren Madison, Emma,  Cameron, Travis ,Ryder, Hailey, Jordan, Penelope, Harrison, and son to be one more. She also leaves her loving siblings, Annie, Michael, James, John, and Celia as well as extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Raymond and brother Thomas.

Visitation with Mary Ellen's family will be held on Tuesday August 26 2025, from 4-7 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday August 27,2025 at 8:15 A.M. at the funeral home and proceed to Holy Name Church 323 Dickenson Street in Springfield for a 10 A.M. Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by committal at St. Aloysius cemetery 1273 Berkshire Avenue Indian Orchard. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
