Obituary

Lynda A. Carroll

June 18, 1943 – April 6, 2024

With great love and affection, the family of Lynda A. Carroll sadly announces her peaceful passing on April 6,2024 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Springfield on June 18,1943 to the late Henry and Rose (Marty) Alvigini, she was raised in Agawam graduating from Agawam high school class of 1961. Lynda furthered her education at Westfield State College earning her teaching degree. She went on to become a valuable member of the elementary school team of teachers in Agawam for nineteen years spending her tenure in the second and third grade classrooms. She later was employed by Titeflex US Hose in Springfield until her retirement. Lynda wed her beloved Ronald Carroll in 1974 and they began their journey together welcoming their two boys in West Springfield. Lynda took immense pride in her family, always focusing on creating a warm and loving home. She loved them fiercely and being with them creating lasting memories was paramount to her. The times her family spent vacationing at Cape Cod were her favorite. She was an avid sewer with a special talent for quilts. Lynda was also a qualified member of the ham radio community with her call sign being "N1DOO". She looked forward to field days which was officially an operating event to demonstrate the communications ability of the amateur radio community in simulated emergency situations. Her preferred challenge was that of a fox hunt where operators attempt to triangulate the position of radio transmissions. Lynda was a self-determined woman who put great value in education, her faith, and her family.

Surviving Lynda are her devoted husband Ronald and her beloved sons, Eric Carroll of Southwick and Mark Carroll and his wife Andrea of Agawam. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving grandchildren Ashley and Braiden and great grandson Daimen. She also leaves her beloved sister Mary Forcier as well as a large extended family and countless friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved brother David Alvigini.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday April 16,2024 from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. concluding with a service at 1 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street in Agawam.
