Louise
Evans
February 5, 1935 – June 26, 2025
The family of Louise Evans announces her peaceful passing with great sadness and love for her as a devoted mother and grandmother. Born to the late John and Lillian (Medrek) Clare on February 5,1935 in Brooklyn NY, Louise relocated with her family to Chicopee as a young girl where she attended local schools. Louise wed the love of her life, Craig A Evans, in 1960 and they settled in Southwick to begin a wonderful life together, welcoming their two children. They were happily married for fifty-five years before Craig's passing in October of 2016. Louise took immense pride in being a mother creating a loving nurturing environment for her family. After raising their family Craig and Louise spent twenty years living in Port Charlotte Florida before returning to the area shortly before Craig's passing. Louise had a great love for the beach and after her return from Port Charlotte she looked forward to taking trips to local beaches. She enjoyed gardening, focusing mostly on flowers, and all the many family pets. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her beloved family. Her love for them knew no bounds. She appreciated the simple things in life and having her family beside her brought her boundless joy.
Surviving Louise is her devoted son Craig S. Evans of Feeding Hills and her beloved daughter Laurieanne August-DiGiacomo and her husband Thomas of Woonsocket R.I. To cherish her memory, she leaves her adored grandchildren, Abbey, Samuel and Amber and great grandchildren, Jordyn, Olivia, Jacey, and Sadie. She also leaves a small extended family and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with her family will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2025, from 9-10 A.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street concluding with a service beginning at 10 A.M. Committal will follow at 11 A.M. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Memorial donations to honor Louise may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
