Keiko N. Mandish

October 12, 1935 – December 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keiko Mandish, who left us peacefully on December 5, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on October 12, 1935, in Yokohama, Japan,

Keiko was a devoted wife to Louis Mandish, celebrating 50 years of marriage. They met when Louis was stationed in Japan as a crew chief in the Air Force then built a life together in Agawam, Mass where they lived for an incredible 65 years.

Keiko's early life included losing her father to the Japanese Army when she was just seven. She learned the art of sewing from a book and later became a renowned seamstress throughout the area. Her mother, an educator, instilled in her the importance of learning, and the value of respect and integrity. She often shared her insights, reminding younger generations of the importance of appreciating what they have.

Keiko leaves behind two sisters, including her twin, Yoko, a nephew and two nieces all in Japan She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Louis, and her best friend, Stella Borgatti. She will be fondly remembered by Stella's children, Shelley Borgatti-Reed and Edward Borgatti who cared for Keiko in her later years.
