Obituary

Those we love don't go away, they stand beside us every day. The family of beloved matriarch Kathleen A. Cavallo are deeply saddened to announce her peaceful passing on March 17,2026 encircled with their love and comfort. Born in Springfield on April 13,1937 to the late Patrick and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Sullivan, Kathleen spent her youth and was educated there graduating from Cathedral High School and completing her nursing degree at Mercy Hospital. She wed her devoted husband, Frank Cavallo, in 1961 and together they created a loving, nurturing home where they welcomed their three children and instilled in them the important values that would enrich their lives. In addition to being a devoted mother, Kathleen used her nursing skills and gentle, caring ways to minister to many at Bay State Medical Center for many years. She embodied the qualities of an excellent nurse, showing empathy and compassion towards her patients and their families. In her private life, Kathleen was a proud GiGi to her five beautiful grandchildren, showering them with her love and taking every opportunity to be in their company. She was an avid reader and relished the challenge of a crossword puzzle, frequently watched the game show network, and enjoyed scratch tickets. Kathleen cherished her Irish roots and felt a strong connection to her Irish culture. Her life was defined by love, faith, and loyalty which she held for all those she loved. She will be dearly missed, and the impact of her life will continue to be felt through the memories shared by those who loved her and had the honor of knowing her.

Surviving Kathleen is her devoted husband Frank and her beloved children, Maria Cavallo, Patricia Urban and her husband Gregg and Frank Cavallo and his partner Heidi Malone. To cherish her memory, she leaves her cherished grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Michael, Mary Kate, Matthew and her loving siblings Marion Rogers and Edward "Eamon" Sullivan. She will be missed by her special friend Barbara and her large extended family and countless friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by her siblings, Raymond, Robert, and Gerald Sullivan, Elenor Hagerty, and her daughter-in-law Lisa Cavallo.
