June M. Matt, a woman who was devoted to her family, passed away peacefully encircled by their love and comfort on August 9,2026. Born in Springfield to the late Charles and Jane (Huthinson) Marlowe on January 26,1931, she spent her youth and was educated there. She wed her beloved husband, Félix Matt Jr., in 1951 and they became Agawam residents the following year. They lovingly welcomed their four children and spent many years making wonderful memories until his passing in 2008. June was a devoted mother and wife creating a loving environment where her family could grow together, experiencing all the most important lessons in life. Family was the center of her world and as hers expanded she delighted in each new member. She was a loving caretaker to her family and did so with generosity and great emotion. She had a fondness for vacationing with her loved ones at Misquamicut Beach and camping in Vermont. She was an avid knitter and loved to crochet. Bingo was one of her favorite hobbies and she adored outdoors, especially tending to her beautiful flower gardens. The simple pleasures in life and being in the company of her loved ones brought immense joy to June. Her warm, gentle, caring spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved so deeply.
Surviving June are her devoted children, Nancy Bennett, Dennis and his partner Linda, Felix III and his wife Kimberlee, and Robbie and his wife Wendi. To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving grandchildren, Amberly, Paul and his wife Erin, Katrina and her partner Matt, Kateri and her husband Tyler, Sara and her husband Aaron and great grandchildren Alexsa, Jason, Harper, Vera, Bentley, and Ben as well as a large extended family and friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Felix and her brother Robert Marlowe.
Visitation with her family will take place on Monday August 17,2026 from 4 until 7 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday August 18,2026 at the funeral home beginning at 9 A.M. and proceed to Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills for a 10 A.M. Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by committal at Springfield Street Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Dakin Humane Society P.O. Box 6307 Springfield MA 01101-6307.
