Joyce M. Asta-Ferrero

September 21, 1940 – November 22, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joyce Asta-Ferrero, born on September 21, 1940, in Abington, Massachusetts. Joyce, a beacon of love, strength, and resilience, departed from this world on November 22, 2024.

Joyce, as she was fondly known to her family and friends, was a woman of many talents and interests. She was a master of the kitchen, having worked as a cook in the healthcare industry, from where she retired from Heritage Hall. Joyce had a knack for creating culinary masterpieces that warmed the heart as much as they did the stomach. Her love for life was evident in her hobbies. She enjoyed playing bingo and made occasional thrilling trips to the casino. Joyce had a special place in her heart for animals, a trait that attracted many a stray to her welcoming presence. However, what mattered most to Joyce was her family. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, putting her family's needs above her own, ensuring they were always loved and cared for.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Duane Asta-Ferrero; her daughters, Robin Brunt and Lisa Gray; her brother, Richard Gagnon; her grandchildren, Kristopher, Sara, and Taylor; and her son-in-law, Richard Gray. She was preceded in death by her parents, Armand and Alvina Gagnon, and her son-in-law, Billy Brunt. Joyce leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In honor of Joyce, donations can be made to the Dakin Animal Shelter in Springfield, Massachusetts. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Agawam South Rehab and Nursing Wing C staff for their unwavering support and care.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, 25th November 2024 at 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Agawam Funeral Home, located at 184 Main Street, Agawam, Massachusetts, 01001. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, 26th November 2024 at 1:00pm at the Agawam Funeral home.
