Joseph T. Sibilia 86 passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, with his son and daughter by his side. Born and raised in Springfield, MA, Joe was the son of the late Giovanni "John" and Antonia "Antonetta" (Cava) Sibilia. He attended public schools and graduated from the High School of Commerce in Springfield, MA. Joe went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. He then began his successful career as an operating engineer for the Rosati family and John’s Trucking. Joe enjoyed watching sports on TV, coaching touch football and going to the casino. He took pride in his very impressive vegetable garden. He took pleasure in spreading the bounty of his labor to family, neighbors and friends. He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend. His kind caring ways will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Lori Santaniello of Longmeadow and his son Michael and his wife Dawn Sibilia of Holland and, his cherished and loving grandchildren Dominic Santaniello and Michela Baden (Eric), his sisters-in-law Carol Sibilia and Patricia Sibilia, and many nieces, nephews and great grandson Brooks and his special friend Diane (DiDi) Fusaro. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Mary Matroni, brothers Alfredo "Freddy", John "Junie, Anilio "Tony", and Salvatore "Sammy" Sibilia. Joes family would like to thank all of his caring staff at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing. Visitation for Joe will be held on Monday July 20th beginning at 9:00 AM, Agawam Funeral Home, Main Street, Agawam followed by an 11:30 Mass at Sacred Heart Church on Chestnut Street in Springfield. There will be a burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name to New England Hospice 190 Old Derby St #304, Hingham, MA 02043
