Jonathan D
Marcil
May 25, 1940 – January 3, 2026
Jonathan Dennis Marcil, a quiet man of character and integrity, entered eternal rest on Saturday January 3,2026 in the love and comfort of his beloved family. Born in Springfield on May 25,1940 to the late Walter and Evelyn Marcil, he spent his youth and was educated in West Springfield. Jon was a gifted man who used his skills to achieve the highest level of professional recognition in the trade as a master mechanic. Jon's deep expertise made him the cornerstone of the team at Gagliarducci Construction for fifty years. His love for his trade was as fierce as his love for sporting activities. Whatever Jon did he was all in, fully engaged. He loved the thrill of speed whether it be riding motorcycles, driving speed boats or downhill skiing. He was a member of the Cyclonauts bicycle club and the Appalachian Hikers Club. Jon engaged his mind as well, being computer savvy and always welcoming a challenge. He was a kind and generous individual, his altruistic support unwavering. His quiet presence was comforting and steadfast. To know him was to love and respect him. Jon will remain forever in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
Surviving Jon are his devoted wife Kathy Evans and his children, Jeff Marcil (Amy), Michael Marcil, Gina Marcil, Suzanne Grucci, Kerri Hatcher and stepchildren, Michael Evans (Sara Lustusky) and Russell Evans (Jessica). He also leaves his grandchildren, Madeline Grucci, Peighton Grucci and Kate Hatcher, Courtney and Cameron Marcil, his sister Lynn Ennaco (Ron), and former wives Laretta Jones and Joyce Klett. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and countless friends.
Visitation with Jon's family will be held on Saturday January 10,2026 beginning at 10 A.M. concluding with a funeral home service promptly at 12 Noon. Committal services will immediately follow at the Agawam Center Cemetery.
