John A McCreary, age 82, of Chicopee, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024. Born in Lansing, Michigan on June 4, 1942, upon graduating he joined the United States Air Force and met the love of his life and wife Carol Ann at the base. After serving in the United States Air Force, he later found his calling in the automotive industry where he worked as a Parts and Service Manager at Automotive dealerships until his retirement. He also enjoyed driving the local school bus during his retirement.
John's heart was filled with a love for music, especially Christian Music. He was steadfast in his faith and lived by Proverbs 3:5-6. An avid photographer, he had a keen eye for capturing life's beautiful moments. John also enjoyed playing cards and cherished the time spent with family. He was a beloved figure, leaving behind not only a small extended family but also a community of friends who will miss him dearly.
John is survived by his wife, Carol, and two sons: John (wife, Diane), and Keith (wife, Marsha), and his beloved grandchildren, Tyler (Madyson), Brandon (Bre-Anne), Kristyn, and Kayla. He was predeceased by his mother and father, his sister Cecilia, and his brothers Richard and Michael.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 8:45 am at Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street, Agawam, Massachusetts, 01001. Funeral home service will follow at 9:45 am. Committal Service will be held at 11:00 am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, Massachusetts, 01001.
