The family of John J. Daviau announces his peaceful passing on January 4,2026 with great love and respect. Born in Springfield to the late Andrew and Anna (Rogala) Daviau on March 30,1949, he spent his youth there and attended local schools graduating from Cathedral High School class of 1967 and later from STCC class of 1969. John chose a career in the field of computer science and was a valued member of the team at Mass Mutual for many years. He had the ability to use the blend of his technical skills along with his soft skills such as problem solving and attention to detail to be successful in his role. John had a strong work ethic but also sought to relax in his personal life. He enjoyed spending quiet time at the beach, especially on Cape Cod. He was an avid reader and a devoted New England Sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox. John appreciated the simple things in life and was content to enjoy the world around him. His warm and gentle nature will be remembered by all those whose lives he touched.

Surviving John are his devoted fiancé Roberta Serra and his loving sister Julia Doulliard and her husband Roger and brother Andrew Daviau and his wife Mary. He also leaves to cherish his memory his beloved nieces, Jennifer, Kristie, Laurie Tracy, five great nephews, four great nieces, extended family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday January 8,2026 from 4-6 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street. Family and friends will gather on Friday January 9,2026 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10 A.M. Funeral Home Service followed by committal at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery 421 Tinkham Road in Springfield.
