With great sadness the family of Jean E. Brusseau announces her peaceful passing on April 6,2025 surrounded by her family. Born in Springfield MA on May 27, 1927, to the late Ben and Ethel (Gregory) Desmarais Jean attended local schools graduating from Agawam High School. Jean wed John Brusseau, and they raised their family and spent many wonderful years together. Jean was gifted with excellent secretarial skills and worked for several area insurance companies. Jean was capable and enthusiastic, working well into her eighties. She was a doting grandmother, welcoming every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and her family. She was a giving woman to the point of being selfless always taking care of others. In her leisure she was an avid reader and loved to knit. She was also a loyal Red Sox Fan. Jean was very social and had a circle of friends that she enjoyed many good times with. She will be greatly missed by her long-time treasured companion, Jim Sullivan. Jean was a strong spirited woman who lived life to the fullest and loved with no bounds.
Surviving Jean are her two devoted daughters, Terri Brusseau and Nancy Benigni and her husband Robert. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving grandchildren; Laura Madkour and her husband George, Sara Benigni and great granddaughter Sophie Madkour. She will be missed by her beloved brother Russel Demarais and his wife Ann and a small extended family.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday April 10,2025 from 4-6 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street in Agawam. Family and friends will gather on Friday April 11,2025 at 930 A.M and proceed to St John the Evangelist Church for a 10:30 Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by committal in Agawam Center Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
