James F. Liquore, 84, of 32 Meadow Street in Agawam, MA, was called peacefully home on Saturday, October 17, 2026, with his loving wife, Patti, and his loyal pup, Mikie, by his side. He was born in Thompsonville, CT, on June 20, 1942, a beloved son of the late Joseph and Carmella (Albano) Liquore. He entered the Army on November 2, 1967, and served as a military policeman in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He was honorably discharged on October 31, 1969. Following his military service, he returned to Thompsonville and worked alongside his father for several years in construction at Builders Ledger Star Home in Enfield, CT. He also worked for his sister, Vincy, at Valentine Plating and for his brother, Joe, at Liquore Sand and Gravel. After retiring, Jimmy said his best job was working as a handyman at Knight Brothers. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, clamming, camping, gardening, adventures in Florida with Patti, and motorcycle rides for charity. He loved his Harley, but his pride and joy was his Ecstasy Trike. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield, MA.
He leaves his loving wife and best friend, Patricia (DePalo) Liquore. They were married on June 23, 1979, at Mount Carmel and were blessed with more than 47 years of happiness together.
He also leaves his sisters, Josephine (Liquore) Arnone and her husband, Jimmy, of Enfield, CT; Philomena (Liquore) Dooley of Enfield, CT; and Carmen (Liquore) Rapp of Florida. He also leaves his brothers, Joseph Liquore, Jr., and his partner, Jane XX, of Enfield, CT, and John Liquore and his partner, Lori Jones, of West Springfield, MA, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Vincy (Liquore) Valentino; his brother, Thomas Liquore; and his in-laws, Michael, Anna, and Esther DePalo.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, beginning with calling hours from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel Church, 123 Williams Street, Springfield, MA. Committal rites with full military honors will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA.
Patti would like to thank the nurses at Mercy Hospital, Care Tenders, and Beacon Hospice for the kindness and care they provided to Jimmy and Patti during his illness.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy’s name to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 Williams Street, Springfield, MA.
