Obituary

Beloved husband and father, Hal G Vermes entered eternal rest peacefully on March 9,2026. His passing was unexpected and he was taken too soon. Born on September 6,1955 in Springfield to the late Roy and Jean (Rogers) Vermes, he spent his youth and was educated there. He then proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honored to do so. His position in the Army was a combat medic, and his base was in Germany. Hal then used his talent and skills to become an upholstery craftsman and had a successful career in his own employ. He was an artesian in his trade and took immense pride in his work. In his leisure Hal was most relaxed surrounded by nature and had a passion for camping. He found the ocean a peaceful environment and had a passion for the beauty of whale watching. Hal was also musically inclined and was a talented drummer. But his greatest pleasure was being in the company of his family. He was a devoted husband and father. He was a friend of Bill's. Hal was a simple man who treasured each day his creator gave him. His love and care will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Surviving Hal is his loving wife Tammy and his beloved children, Jason Vermes and his wife, Sara and Jennifer Gilbert and her husband Jeremy. To cherish his memory, he leaves his adored grandchildren, Cali, Liam, Nevaeh, and Cameron. He will be missed by his loving brother Roger and extended family and friends.
