Fredrick G.
Cooper
January 2, 1928 – June 22, 2025
With great sadness the family of Fredrick G. Cooper announces his peaceful passing on June 22,2025 surrounded by the love of his family. Frederick was born to the late Wilbur and Julia (Shibel) Cooper on January 2, 1928, in Athens Ohio where he spent his youth and attended local schools. As a young man he had a great love for his country and a patriotic spirit which inspired him to devote six years in service the first in the US Navy and the remainder in the US Air Force. He was a proud veteran never hesitating to display his love of his country. He wed the love of his life; Joan Brayton and they welcomed their four children and built a wonderful life together celebrating sixty-three years together before her passing in 2015. Frederick was a man who believed in greeting each day with a strong work ethic and loyalty which afforded him a successful career as a dispatcher for Valerie Trucking where he was a valued member of the team for many years. In his leisure Frederick had great skill at woodworking and created many beautiful pieces that his family will forever treasure. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife vacationing in Florida. He had a bit of a cowboy in him, and he loved country music, his red truck, and his cowboy boots. He loved his family and his country and that love had no bounds. He will be forever in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
Surviving Frederick are his devoted daughters; Pamela Tudryn and her husband David, Sandra Cooper, and Jo-Anne Cooper-Fatic. To cherish his memory, he leaves his beloved grandchildren; Michael, Valerie, Jennifer, Adam, Courtney, Alyssa, Kevin and Erin, great grandchildren Olivia and Griffen and great great granddaughter Maya. He also leaves Marcia Troy who was like a daughter to him. Sadly, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan, his son Frederick II and his four siblings.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday July 2,2025 from 4-6 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street in Agawam. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday July 3,2025 at 9 A.M. and a service will begin at 10 A.M. followed by committal with full military honors at 11 A.M. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. For those choosing to remember Frederick in a special way the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
