Obituary

Freddy M Waterman, of Agawam, passed away May 7, 2025. Freddy was a highly skilled mason and a construction worker for many years. He also worked as a chef and poured his heart into every dish. Freddy took immense pride in being a father, but his joy as a grandfather surpassed all. He was an avid fisherman, a talented artist and cherished planting vegetable gardens every spring with his grandchildren. He had a deep love for the outdoors and a true passion for cooking. Salisbury held a special place in his heart, especially his yearly father daughter beach trips he eagerly awaited. Freddy's quick wit and playful humor could light up a room and keep you laughing long after the conversation ended. Nothing brought Freddy more happiness than moments shared with his daughter, grandkids and family.

Surviving Freddy is his devoted daughter Katie Waterman (Bug) and her husband Joseph Shanley along with his best buddies and adored grandchildren Jade and Crew. He was born to the late Teddy and Anna (Ricapito) Waterman and is also survived by his loving siblings Teddy, John, Deborah, Mike, Patty and Chris. Sadly, he was predeceased by his beloved brother Guy and his treasured sister Geri Ann Morris. He also leaves behind his dearest friends Marie Mason-LeClerc and Jasmine Colon. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, friends and his fishing buddies Jade and Crew. The laughter he shared with his family, the lessons he taught us and the memories we built together will live on in our hearts forever. He will be missed more than words can express. Visitation with his family will be held on Friday May 16,2025 from 4 until 6 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street concluding with a service at 6 P.M. Memorial donations in Freddy's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
