Obituary

Ernest William Musa

July 24, 1946 – January 20, 2025

Ernest William Musa, affectionately known as "Ernie," of Feeding Hills, MA, passed away at his home on January 20, 2025. Born on July 24, 1946, to the late Inez (Givens) Musa and Joseph Musa, Ernie grew up in Ludlow, MA, where he graduated from Ludlow High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Westfield State College and honorably served in the Army National Guard for six years. Ernie dedicated over 30 years of his career to Monsanto/Solutia, before retiring in 2009.

A devoted family man and friend, Ernie always prioritized others, offering a helping hand whenever it was needed. He made countless sacrifices to ensure his sons never missed a single dirt bike race, creating cherished family memories along the way. He was a devout member of Sacred Heart Church, where he was a lector and volunteer. Ernie treasured the connections he maintained with lifelong friends, including those from his days at Westfield State and the Hog Wild crew.

A lover of animals, Ernie is reunited with his favorite dogs, Benny and Ace, and leaves his cherished cat, Sammy, in the loving care of his grandson Maddox. Ernie's passions included cooking, classic cars—especially Corvettes—and savoring a good meal at his favorite breakfast spots, where he was known by name. He found joy in simple moments, like taking his grandsons to McDonald's, the Dollar Store, and Five Below.

Above all, Ernie's greatest source of happiness was his family. He leaves behind his son, Aaron Musa, and his wife, Kimberly Musa, of Westfield; his son, Jeremy Musa, and his wife, Lauren Musa, of Agawam; Four adoring grandsons: Garrett Musa, who always found wisdom and guidance in "Grampy's" words and advice; Jase Musa, whose dirt bike races and performances at St. Mary's Parish Ernie never missed; Maddox Musa, his "Best Bud," who spent countless nights at Grampy's house for sleepovers and Tanner Musa, "Tannah Banana" who was always his dance partner.

Ernie is also survived by his beloved siblings: Joseph Musa and wife Cynthia, Deborah Lysik and husband Kenneth, Richard Musa and wife Cindy. He was predeceased by his sister, Tara Bates, and brother-in-law, Daniel Bates, and his former wife, Diane Musa. Ernie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who cherished his presence.

We will miss you Dad, Grampy, Brother, Uncle and true friend!
