Obituary

With heavy hearts the family of Ernest E Lagacy announces his passing on June 7, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Ernest was born in Burrillville R.I. on November 7,1931 and spent his youth in Tiverton R.I. becoming an Agawam resident in 1971. He chose to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ernest was gifted with skills that enabled him to pursue a career in the automotive industry as a mechanic. This suited him well because he had a keen interest in cars and trucks thus, he truly did enjoy being a valued member of the team at Ryder Truck Rental. Ernest retired after thirty-three years of loyal and dedicated [i]service. He also had a strong interest in auto racing and was the top supporter of his son's EJ racing career spending many nights at Riverside Park cheering him on. In the true spirit of those who are racing enthusiasts he also loved country music. He was a very generous and caring man who was always there to help no matter the need. His love for his family and friends knew no bounds endearing him to all whose lives he touched. Pops" as he was well known, will be forever remembered for being a true gentleman and a man of great spirit.

Surviving Ernest is his devoted son Ernest Jr and his wife Donna and his beloved daughter Deborah and loving daughters-in-law Juanitta (Thomas) and Marilou (Jeffrey) Lagacy and his sister Jennette Reis. To cherish his memory, he leaves his adored grandchildren, Tanya and Geoffrey and great grandchildren, Joseph, Zachery, Kenneth, Julia, and Victoria as well as extended family and countless friends. Sadly, he was predeceased by his beloved sons, Thomas and Jeffrey and several siblings.
