Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Elaine Viecelli entered eternal rest peacefully on April 29, 2024, in the comfort of her family. Born in Springfield to the late Joseph and Mary (Brezniak) Gaze on January 22,1956, she was raised and educated in West Springfield graduating from West Springfield High School class of 1974. Elaine was focused on furthering her education and went on to complete her undergraduate as well as master's degree in forensic psychology from American International College. She wed the love of her life, Jack Viecelli in 1991and on April 28, 2024, celebrated 33 years of marriage. Elaine was a valued member of the School of Business at her alma mater, AIC, as the faculty assistant. In her leisure Elaine enjoyed reading while sitting with her cats, and binge watching her favorite TV shows. She was an avid shopper, and her favorite destination was always T.J. Maxx. Elaine was a very involved Grammie and loved playing with her grandchildren. Her love for her family and friends was unconditional and unwavering. Elaine was a spirited woman who touched the heart of many. She will be dearly missed, and the impact of her life will continue to be felt through the memories shared by those who loved and had the honor of knowing her.
Surviving Elaine are beloved husband Jack, and devoted daughter Jessica with her husband Mario Manzi of Enfield. To cherish her memory, she leaves her adored grandchildren Michael Stimpson Jr., Joseph Manzi and Lucy Manzi. She also leaves her loving siblings Nancy Gaze of FL, Daniel Gaze and his wife Valerie of Southampton, Elizabeth Johnston of Westfield, sister-in-law Teresa Gaze of Holden, and her special friend Dianne O'Connor of CT, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Elaine was predeceased by her parents and brother Joseph Gaze.
Visitation with her family will be held on Tuesday May 7, 2024, from 4-6:30 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street concluding with a service at 6:30 P.M. Burial will be held privately for the family. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to Dakin Humane Society 171 Union Street Springfield 01106 or Baystate Visiting Nurse Assoc. 50 Maple Street, Springfield 01105.
