Donald Clinton Bennett, 78, of Agawam, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 20, 2026.

Born on April 26, 1947, in Springfield, MA, Donald was the son of Eric and Edith (Smart) Bennett, who predeceased him. He grew up in Springfield, where he became known to many as "Cheyenne," though he often referred to himself with a smile as "Honest Don."

Don was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Linda. He leaves his son, Eric "Ricky" Bennett and his spouse, Karyn, his daughter, Kimberly Bennett, and his stepdaughters Rena and Sharon. He is further survived by his sister, Dorothy Maiwald, seven grandchildren, as well as a nephew and an aunt.

A natural athlete, Don was well known for his talent in baseball, hockey, and football. Beyond sports, he was highly skilled in carpentry and masonry, taking pride in working with his hands and creating things that would last.

Don and Linda shared many of their happiest moments together on their boat along the Connecticut River and at their home on Cape Cod, where they spent much of their free time enjoying the water and each other's company.

Don will be remembered for his character, his humor, and the love he had for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
