Dolores (Dee) Raimondi Flavin passed away peacefully at home with her loving family surrounding her on April 21,2024. She was born in Springfield MA on March 14,1943. Dee grew up in Agawam and graduated from Agawam High School in 1961. She was the daughter of the late Pietro and Ida Rainmondi, both of whom arrived at Ellis Island NY from Italy in the 1920's. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Elio. She is survived by her sister Norma Jonic; Dee's former husband John Flavin; sister-in-law Nancy Flavin; niece Lisa Bricault; great nephew Tyler Kutt; her beloved pup Lexi and her very dearest friends, Ann DePalma, and Joann Barrett, whom she grew up with.
Dee began her career at Strathmore Paper Company, retiring after forty-six years. She also worked many years serving baked potatoes at the Maine Building at the Big E. True to her Italian heritage Dee was a great cook and an avid gardener enjoying the time spent tending to her yard. She will be missed by many. She enjoyed life to its fullest. She enjoyed "Secret Bella Donna trips, her monthly book club, attending UMASS basketball games with Ann Malinowski and close friends and trips to Vero Beach FL and Hampton Beach NH. With our deepest gratitude to the amazing Baystate Hospice Team for all the compassionate care they provided to Dee.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday April 25,2024 from 4-6 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street in Agawam. Family and friends will gather on Friday April 26,2024 at 8:45 A.M. at the funeral home and proceed to Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills for a 10 A.M Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by committal in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield. For those wishing to remember Dee in a special way the family suggests memorial contributions be made to UMASS Men's Basketball Mullins Center 200 Commonwealth Avenue Room 308 Amherst MA 01003 or Sacred Heart Church 1061 Springfield Street Feeding Hills 01030.
