It is with great sadness and deep respect that the family of Gino Dellagiustina announces his peaceful passing at the venerable age of ninety-seven. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late Constante and Angela Dellagiustina, Gino spent his youth and received his education there. He chose a career as a firefighter, serving and protecting the Town of Agawam for more than thirty years. A proud father of three sons, he guided them through their youth and taught them to appreciate the values he held close to his heart. Proud of his Italian heritage, he instilled that same pride in his boys. Gino was a deeply caring man who found great fulfillment in helping those who were less fortunate or in need. For many years, he volunteered at Baystate Medical and served as an ambassador at Bradley International Airport. Gino gave his best to everything he did. He lived simply, appreciated each day, and believed in paying it forward without expecting anything in return. He touched many lives throughout his journey and will long be remembered for his generosity and caring spirit.
Gino is survived by his two sons, Steven and Paul, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Richard.
A celebration of Gino’s life will be held on April 10, 2027, at the Southwick American Legion from 2:00–7:00 p.m.
A private burial will be held at Southwick Cemetery.
