Obituary

Deborah M. Pellegrino

March 25, 1947 – November 12, 2024

Deborah M. Pellegrino, a beloved educator, avid reader, and cherished family woman, passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Springfield, MA on March 25, 1947, to the late John and Agnes Burke, Deborah was a woman of boundless spirit and a heart ablaze with love for life. She was the epitome of compassion, nurturing, and wisdom, a beacon of light that shone brightly in every life she touched.

Deborah spent her life immersed in the world of education, instilling knowledge and inspiring countless young minds as a devoted teacher. Her love for learning was infectious, and she carried her passion for literature and writing into her personal life as well. An avid reader, Deborah found solace, joy, and adventure within the pages of a good book. This joy was only surpassed by the love she felt when surrounded by her family. Deborah's home in Agawam, Massachusetts, where she had resided since 1972, was often filled with laughter and love as she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her travels, particularly to Las Vegas and Ireland, were another source of joy and adventure for her.

Deborah leaves behind a legacy of love and learning. She is survived by her loving husband, John Pellegrino; her devoted children, Kelly (Patrick) Baker, Michael (Kelli) Pellegrino, Brian Pellegrino, and Daniel (Nikki) Pellegrino; her caring brothers, Daniel and Brian Burke; and her best friend and cousin, Noreen Robinson. She also leaves behind a beautiful grand legacy in her grandchildren Ashlie, Devin, Hannah, Grace, Connor, Emma, Michaela, Stella, and Landon. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Burke.

In honor of Deborah's lifelong dedication to education, a scholarship will be formed in her honor. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts in Deborah's name.
