Darlene P.
Peterson
December 4, 1970 – August 29, 2024
It is with profound sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our daughter Darlene P. Peterson, who died on August 29, 2024 at our home in Feeding Hills. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family and friends finding a renewed sense of peace and comfort in her remaining hours. Darlene was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on December 4, 1970. She was raised in Agawam, where she attended local schools, and later established her residence in Easthampton. Darlene was a dedicated and diligent professional in the food service industry, a role she fulfilled with both grace and commitment.
Darlene possessed a fervent zest for life, which was evident in her various pastimes. She was an avid fisherwoman, drawing tranquility from nature's serenity. Her creativity was particularly expressed through diamond painting, a craft that brought her immense pleasure to do and share. Above all, Darlene valued her family, with her son Aaron and her father Peter and stepmother Lisa occupying the most significant places in her heart. She often expressed her wish for a big family and as she said before her passing, "I finally got my wish".
Darlene is survived by her father, Peter Peterson, and stepmother Lisa Charette; her son, Aaron O'Connell; her stepsisters, Tina Cramer and her husband Jason, Christine Downes and her husband Thomas, and Susan Alejandro and her husband James; her stepbrother, John Wilkie and his wife Carmelina; and her cherished lifelong friends Tammy and Shane Clayton, as well as Jim and Tracy Cyr. She was predeceased by her mother, Marsha Peterson.
Visitation will be held at Agawam Funeral Home, located at 184 Main Street, Agawam, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, commencing at 9:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. We invite you to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Darlene.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Darlene's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
