Daniel Robert Munson, 78, of Sandisfield, MA, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024. Born on January 31, 1946, in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late William and Elmore (Petrini) Munson. Known for his mechanical talent, polite demeanor, and vibrant personality, Dan brought warmth and joy to every gathering and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dan proudly served in the United States Air Force at McGuire Air Force Base during the Vietnam War and continued his service with the Air Force Reserve in Chicopee, MA.

An accomplished auto mechanic, Dan excelled in working on cars, trucks, and boats throughout his career. His generosity extended far beyond his profession, always offering a helping hand to those in need. A passionate boating enthusiast and fisherman, Dan enjoyed countless adventures exploring Long Island Sound with family and friends.

He was an active participant in numerous card leagues, an avid sports fan, and the life of the party, where his dancing skills often took center stage. Dan's leadership and dedication shone brightly during his tenure as Commander of American Legion Post 80 in Enfield, CT. His tireless efforts in organizing events, running meetings, bartending, and assisting with various projects left a lasting impact on the community.

Dan is survived by his loving children: daughter Melissa and her husband Jim Bocek, son Danny and his wife Heather Munson, and daughter Erika and her husband Brian Nagle. He also leaves behind his sister Adele and her husband James McGuire, his brother William Munson, and his brother David and sister-in-law Ann Munson. Dan will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Amanda, Joshua, Haley, and Mary, his great-grandchildren Richard, Jasmine, Calla, and Azalea and many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals who supported and cared for Dan over the years. Your kindness and efforts meant more than words can express.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Dan's memory.

Family and friends are invited to honor Dan's life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Calling hours will take place at 12:00 PM at the Agawam Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
