Obituary

Colette Potter
March 30, 1936 – June 11, 2024
Colette Potter, a cherished resident of Agawam, MA, passed away peacefully on June 11,
2024, at the age of 88. Born on March 30, 1936, to Edward Thompson and Gertrude
McGlynn, Colette lived a life rich in love, nature, and community.
Colette, a devoted and long-time member of the Naturalist Club and the Audubon Society,
shared her deep love for the natural world with fellow enthusiasts. Her joy in exploring
the great outdoors, her love for the tranquility and beauty it offered, and her passion for
working with ceramics, all reflected her artistic spirit and her profound connection with
nature.
Colette enjoyed the family gatherings around Mike's pool, where many fond memories
were made. All who knew her felt her warmth and hospitality, and she took great pleasure
in the company of her loved ones.
Colette, preceded in death by her parents, Edward Thompson and Gertrude McGlynn, her
son John as well as her dear sister Joanne O'Brien, and brother Edward Thompson, leaves
behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be etched in the hearts of her
community. Her grandsons John and Jason, and her granddaughter Amanda. Her
extended family of many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were touched by her
generous spirit and unwavering love, stand as a testament to the impact she had on her
community.
