Christl Watson Beck passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and friends on July 19th.

She was born in Waldesgrun in the Bohemian forest between Germany and Czech Republic on October 10, 1938. Her parents were Josef and Wilhemina Schnobrich. Josef was Austrian and was taken as a POW, Wilhemina and her children were sent as refugees to Sieglesbach Germany, where Christl grew up. Life was not easy, they had everything taken from them, but all through her life, her greatest joy and gift was her love of music.

Her love of people and to accept them was second to none. No matter where she went, she lit up a room with her Accordion and her singing. She came here on a boat to America (she could not swim or speak English) she arrived in NY City on July 4, 1957. She learned English, took her Immigration classes, and took an oath to become an American citizen. She loved it here in America.

She worked for years at the Student Prince as a super entertainer. She also worked at Lederer’s Bake Shop in Springfield. She was also the owner of Christl’s Consignment Shop in Feeding Hills for many years. Everyone knew “Christl the Pistol”.

Christl also did a CD recording in West Springfield, the movie “Girl on the Train” came to the Studio looking for background songs for their movie and they heard her recordings. Christl signed a copyright on two of her songs.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Joey Schnobrich, her daughter, Heide Blackak (Paul) her grandsons, Brandon Blackak (Kim) Adam Blackak (Anna), her beloved Great Grand Children, Tristan Blackak, Ella Blackak, Sal Martino, and Mia Blackak.

Her extended family Meghan (Joe) Jameson, Griffin and Nora, Andy (Meghan). Her lifelong Friends, Franz, Sandy, Annie (Archie), Barbara, Sallie (Eric), Amy and Brian, Lisa, and Juan., Dennis, Pam, Chrissy (Mike), Connie, Cheryl, Brian (Missy) Lucas, Jackie (Jerry) Jerry (Ellie),Bonnie (Don), Cynthia (Jay)and Diane (Mike).

Her St John Church Agawam Catholic Women’s Guild.

Her Knitting group from the Agawam Senior Center (Christine, Leah, and Darcie) as well as all the others there on Tuesday, “stitchin and bitchin”.

Her faithful Companions, Maddie Grondin, and Lisa Brunetti Booth.

Her Threes Company crew, they took excellent care of her in every way in her apartment, Dean Piogia (Lindsey) and Robin Rivenberg.

Her Sisters of Caritas Team, Dr. Agnes McCauliffe, Mary, Maria, Katie, and Becky.

Her Beacon Hospice Team, April, Jashauna, Laurie, Yvonne, Heidi and especially Pastor Juan.

We would be remiss if we did not honor her faithful little dog, Coco. We cannot thank her enough for all the love, comfort, and protection she gave to our mother. Her watch is over, a job done well done!

Our Mother fought a long hard battle with cancer; she wanted to live and see her family and friends, she loved life! She fought for 6+ years. She was the epitome of a Warrior. She fought until the end; she gave it her all. You could not be a friend, if you yourself were not recognized for your strength.

Our Mother did not just enter a space; she illuminated it from inside out.

In lieu of flowers, she requested that you donate in her name to the Dakin Animal Shelter, and or the St. Judes Children Hospital.

Visitation with her family and friends will be held on Friday July 31, 2026, at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street from 11:30 until 12:30 at

which time a funeral home service will begin. Committal immediately following the service at 2 P.M. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
