Charles L.
Hendricks
March 19, 1939 – February 20, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles L. Hendricks, who left us peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on March 19, 1939, in Narrows, Kentucky, Charles was the cherished son of Murvil and Mary (Bickett) Hendricks.
Charles was raised in Whiting, Indiana, where he attended local schools and developed a strong foundation of hard work and dedication. He spent over 25 years as a union meat cutter, a profession he took great pride in, before finding fulfillment as a valve technician at Fisher Valve Control for 21 years.
In 2012, Charles made his home in Agawam, Massachusetts, where he embraced new friendships and continued to share his passion for life. Known for his great sense of humor and warm spirit, he was a devoted family man who loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones. His passion for history, particularly as a Civil War re-enactor, allowed him to connect with others in a meaningful way, sharing stories of the past with everyone around him.
Charles's love for travel took him to the beautiful shores of Hawaii, a place that brought him joy and peace. Above all, he was devoted to his beloved wife, Carol (Protolipac) Hendricks, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He was a proud father to his children, Mark Hendricks and wife Jennifer of Agawam, MA, and Cristine Arlet of Orlando, FL, and a doting grandfather to Link and Lea Arlet and Mark Hendricks Jr., who brought endless joy and laughter to his life.
In addition to his immediate family, Charles is survived by a small extended family and many close friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Charles is predeceased by his beloved wife, parents and brothers Harold, Steward and Jewel Hendricks.
Calling hours will be held on February 25, 2025, at the Agawam Funeral Home from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Home Service to honor Charles's remarkable life.
Charles L. Hendricks was a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering love. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Charles's memory.
