Carol A Lawson

A woman of great strength and determination, Carol A. Lawson, entered eternal life peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on August 10,2026 at her residence. Carol fought her battle with great courage and grace until the end. She was born in Holyoke to the late Michael and Mary (Wrzesien) Roman on April 3,1944 and spent her youth and was educated in Westfield. As a child she was willful and wild, always sure of what she wanted. She met her beloved husband Arthur Lawson by chance when his then girlfriend invited her to a party and she asked Art to dance and that began their sixty-four-year journey. They were married in 1962 and welcomed their two children. Carol had plans for the future of her family, planning vacations, and trips for everyone to enjoy. Her love of museums, Broadway shows, old houses, and cemeteries were shared not only with her loved ones but also with her friends. Being an “Avon Lady” for sixty years with her career beginning in Springfield, her customers became friends and Carol was a loyal and true friend. Her friendship lasted a lifetime, and she relished every moment spent with them. Carol was a true fashionista who always followed the latest trends and not only attended but took part in many fashion shows until last year. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, looked forward to working at the Big E every year and found immense joy in watching the birds at the feeders in her yard. Her laugh was contagious and the room lit up when she entered. Carol was an extraordinary woman with determination and a zest for life that was unquenchable. She was unmistakably one of a kind who will be remembered with love and gratitude.

Surviving Carol is her devoted husband Art and her beloved children, Tammy Vermes and Michael Lawson and husband, Larry Frailey. To cherish her memory, she also leaves her cherished grandson Jason Vermes and great grandchildren, Liam, and Caliana. She is also survived by her brother Matthew Roman, a small extended family and countless good friends. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Roman.

Visitation with her family will be held on Friday August 14,2026 at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street beginning at 10 A.M. concluding at Noon with a funeral home service. Memorial donations in Carol’s name may be made to Dakin Humane Society 171 Union Street Springfield MA 01105.
