Bart passed away unexpectedly on July 18,2026. He was born in Springfield and grew up in the Hungry Hill section. One of Bart’s passions was academics. Excelling in both baseball and football he earned athletic scholarships, leading to degrees from both AIC and Springfield College. During these undergraduate years, he simultaneously earned his master electrician license. During these early college years, he was part of the original staff at Downy Side as a student counselor. He went on to attend Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine. Though his med school journey ended early, his time there remained one of his proudest accomplishments. His diverse background led him to founding his own vocational school. He found great joy in nature, aviation as a licensed pilot, golf, and coaching Jennifer’s sports teams. He leaves behind his devoted wife of forty-five years Donna, his beloved daughter Jennifer Kennedy, and her husband Daniel, along with his five-year-old grandson Cooper. Of all the titles he held” granddad” was amongst the ones he cherished most.

Visitation with his family will take place on Friday July 24,2026 at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street beginning at 10 A.M. concluding at 11 A.M. with a funeral home service.
