Arlene
Myers
Sep 11, 1930 — Sep 1, 2026
Longmeadow
With great sadness the family of Arlene Myers announces her peaceful passing at the age of ninety-five. Born in Springfield to the late Timothy and Gertrude Babcock, she spent her youth and was educated in Agawam. Arlene wed Harry Myers, who preceded her, and they welcomed their two daughters. Arlene took great pride in being a mother nurturing her children and instilling in them the important values in life. She also believed in teaching her daughters the necessary life skills that would enable them to be prepared to care for themselves and their future families. She had a great love for animals from a young age, always passionate about having a dog by her side. Her life was filled with dogs. The first family dog, beloved Teddy, was acquired in a unique manner. Arlene took her girls to select a puppy for the family and the one Arlene fell in love with was spoken for. With some quick-thinking Arlene whispered to her girls to cry once told the pup wasn’t available and it worked. Arlene was a loving, devoted woman who loved her family and all the world around her. She was a person of integrity, deeply empathic and kindhearted. She was truly a good woman. A good woman’s value lies in her character, kindness and her strength. Those whose lives Arlene touched will forever hold her in their hearts.
Surviving Arlene is her devoted daughter Debbie Forgarty and her husband Steven and her son -in-law Arthur Wilczak. Services will be held privately for her family, concluding with committal services at Springfield Street Cemetery in Agawam.
