Johnson
September 21, 1929 – April 1, 2024
With profound sadness the family of Arleen L. Johnson announces her passing on April 1.2024 surrounded by their love and comfort. Arleen, affectionately referred to as Lill by her family and friends, was born on September 21,1929 in Springfield to the late LeRoy and Ida (Plante) Rogerson, Arleen was raised there, later relocating to Feeding Hills with her family. She wed the love of her life, Buddy Johnson in 1950 and they enjoyed sixty-five years of happiness together until his passing in 2016. Lill took great pride in her family, creating a loving, nurturing home for them, instilling values in her children that would help them flourish in their life's journey. She had a successful career in the banking industry, retiring from the Agawam Credit Union as manager after many years of service. She loved her family immensely and unconditionally, looking forward to each and every gathering. In her leisure she enjoyed gardening and ceramics, making lampshades, jigsaw puzzles and picking up seashells at the beach. She also was an avid Boston fan, especially of the Celtics. Lill appreciated the simple things in life and lived each day to the fullest.
Surviving Arleen is her devoted son Leonard "Chip" Johnson IV and her loving daughter Jill Lewin and her partner Robert Peck. She will be greatly missed by her cherished grandchildren Courtney, Katey, Josh, Jim, Becky and great grandchildren Colin, Sophia, Delilah, and Silas as well as extended family and countless friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved Buddy and her daughter Peggy Gonsalves.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday April5,2024 from 9-10:30 A.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main Street concluding with a service beginning at 10 :30 A.M.
