Agnes Elizabeth (Braica) DeLucchi, born in Springfield, MA on March 25, 1928, to James and Mary (Kirkpatrick) Braica went home to be with The Lord on July 13th.Agnes was a devout Catholic who taught CCD for many years and was very active in her parish of St. Anthony of Padua in Agawam. A graduate of Cathedral High School in 1945, she worked for Strathmore Paper Company, and later as a floral assistant for Keefe Florist of Agawam. In her earlier years, Agnes loved to entertain her friends and relatives at home acquiring her event expertise from working in her mother’s restaurant. Agnes was an in creditable woman who loved her Family and Friends but most of all she Loved the Lord. She enjoyed reading, watching EWTN, observing the Daily Mass, and being with people…and she loved her family. Her beloved husband, Mario J. DeLucchi predeceased Agnes in July of 1991. She was also predeceased by her daughter Ann Macey in February 2026, her youngest child, Michael, in September 2023 and her brothers, Lewis Braica, James Braica, Jr., and William Braica, and sisters, Jean Ceccarini and Patricia Olewinski. She is survived by her son, John DeLucchi of West Palm Beach, FL. She also leaves two grandchildren: Kristin (DeLucchi) and her husband Douglas Campion of Florida and John Michael DeLucchi and his wife Sydney of North Carolina and two great-grandchildren: Cali Campion and Amelia DeLucchi. Agnes also leaves a sister-in-law: Iris Braica of Springfield, and fifteen nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her former health care workers Mary Bennett, who was also a close friend, and Delna Capitan who never stopped caring for Agnes, her favorite nurse Claudette at the East Longmeadow Skilled nursing home who Loved her and took care of her for the last 5 years. Also, we would like to Thank New England Hospice who she spent her final moments with.
A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday July 21,2026 from 8:30 am to 10:15 am at Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001 followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 1061 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030. Her burial will be immediately following at Springfield Street Cemetery, 1078 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Agnes’ name may be made to Eternal Word Television Network, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL 35210-9768 or the charity of your choice.
